stealth afghan

Another WIP sneaks into my life. Spot the stealth afghan clinging to the plaid chair, it's location given away only by the telltale big honkin' needle it's hanging from. In real life, it really does look like the upholstry of the chair. Maybe I'll just make a pillow. We'll see how much fabric you can knit with 4 skeins of Bernat Satin, then we'll decide if I wanna buy any more and continue.

How to Poppy

(Yes, this post is about 2 weeks late. Sorry. It took me that long to draw the poppies.)

How to make your Poppy stick to your coat for longer than 5 minutes... (This even works on sweaters and t-shirts!)

1. Slap poppy onto your chest (over your heart, I think, is proper) where you want it to be. Collar is also good. (See fig. 1)

2. Pull pin out almost all the way, then stick it in under the fabric (under, then sideways! not into your chest!) until that razor-sharp pinpoint is close to the edge of the poppy, but still under it. (see fig. 2)

3. Push point up and through the red part of the poppy, close to the edge. Continue pushing pin until the head is right in the center where it belongs. (See fig. 3)

That's all there is to it. Nobody will notice you've pierced the edge of your poppy, and the poppy will stay there until you take it off. No, I'm not clever enough to have invented this, someone had to show it to me. Then I slapped by forehead, said, "D'Oh!", and have been doing it this way ever since.

serendipity

DHtrucker accidently found a cross-stitch/knitting site when he was searching for a barbeque recipe(!) (He secretly believes most things lead to knitting now.)
Anyway, follow this and scroll down to the coffee piece. Hysterical! It's right after the Alpacas!

my picture

ok, why won't blogger change my picture in the profile of this blog??? I put in a picture that looks like a human being. Do I have to make a whiny post like this one for it to change?

Update: That's what you get for dinking around with templates. Pretty soon you have to realize you have made it your template, and you have to look hard at it and figure out how it works. For some reason, this template has a specific url for the picture, and doesn't just show the profile image. So now my pic is squashed down, making me look even fatter than I already am. Pffffft!
